The Foliage pokemon
"Due to their perfect camouflage, it is hard to estimate how many Fawnlora exist in the wild, or how close to extinction they may be. It's said a forest is blessed if it contains one."
The Bounty pokemon
"The flowerbuds growing from their ears emit a sweet fragrance, but when angered can create a foul aroma to discourage enemies. Only the richest families keep herds of Botaneer to flaunt their wealth."
The Cornucopia pokemon
Grass / Rock Type
"Only the most skilled trainer is capable of evolving a Botaneer. If mistreated, they will wither and fall ill, making them near impossible to train. They are sometimes kept at Shrines and Temples, and can live up to 100 years."
So these are one of my oldest pokemon I ever designed...I created Fawnlora to be like Bulbasaur, a slightly obscure reptilian creature.
The final stage is inspired by a visit to Nara, Japan, where the deer roam free. They are believed to be messengers of the gods and therefore sacred, so I threw in a little edo period japan into the mix, as well as rock gardens.
